April 17 – April 24

  • Incoming Juniors

    Incoming Seniors

    • Meet with an advisor in your department.

April 24 – May 3

  • Pre-registration is a course preference process—it does not guarantee you a seat in the courses you select.

After pre-registration you may be dropped from any course that over-enrolls (see "enrollment preferences" in the catalog). Have alternative course options in mind if you are dropped.

Williams Student Records will be open from:

    Wednesday, April 24 @ 7:00 pm - Friday, May 3 @ 11:59 pm

    1. Use your APR to review your progress toward completion of distribution and degree requirements as well as major/concentration requirements: Main Menu > Self Service > Academic Records > My APR/Internal Transcript > Email me my APR
    2. Pre-register for four courses (at this point there are no enrollment caps or consent flags set).
    3. Check your schedule in Williams Student Records to confirm you have completed the registration process.

    Coming Up...

Enrollment caps and consent flags have not been set. After pre-registration ends and faculty review enrollments, you may be dropped from a course with an enrollment cap or assigned to a different section of a multi-sectioned course (including labs or conferences):

    • Students dropped from a course will be notified.
    • Students assigned to a different section of a multi-sectioned course will not be notified—so it's important to check your schedule before drop/add.

July 29 – August 9

  • Students can view their advisor information by following these instructions.

August 5 – August 9

  • Pre-registration is a course preference process—it does not guarantee you a seat in the courses you select.

After pre-registration you may be dropped from any course that over-enrolls (see "enrollment preferences" in the catalog). Have alternative course options in mind if you are dropped.

Williams Student Records will be open from:

    Monday, August 5 @ 7:00 pm - Friday, August 9 @ 11:59 pm

    1. Pre-register for four courses (at this point there are no enrollment caps or consent flags set).
    2. Check your schedule in Williams Student Records to confirm you have completed the registration process.

August 19 – August 26

  • Williams Student Records will open for students who have been dropped from a pre-registered course on Monday, August 19. Appointments will be scheduled by Class Year:

    Class of 24 - 7:00 pm

    Class of 25  - 8:00 pm

    Class of 26 - 9:00 pm

    Class of 27 - 10:00pm

Registration for all other students will open Tuesday, August 20 @ 7:00 pm

Registration will close for all students on Monday, August 26 @ 11:59 pm

Check the catalog for courses that are still open, making note of courses that may require instructor or department consent.

Enrollment caps and consent flags have been set, and multi-sectioned courses will continue to be balanced.

Students assigned to a different section of a multi-sectioned course will not be notified—so it's important to check your schedule before drop/add.

September 3 – September 13

  • Before Drop/Add opens, check Williams Student Records for:

    • Holds and resolve as soon as possible (see task tile).
    • Schedule changes—if you enrolled in a multi-sectioned course you may have been assigned to a different section—you will not be notified of section changes.

Williams Student Records will be open from:

    Tuesday, September 3 @ 7:00 PM  - Friday, September 13 @ 11:59 PM

Tutorial drop deadline is September 4.

At this point you may add an extra-graded fifth course.

    First Class Meetings

It's important to attend first class or organizational meetings:

    • If you do not attend the first class or organizational meeting, the instructor may drop you and give your space to another student.
    • Instructors may refuse consent to add a course if you have not attended the first class or organizational meeting.
    • After first class meetings, all classes require instructor consent to add, whether instructor consent is flagged or not. Always check with the instructor if you would like to add a class after the first meeting.
